Working on a new game console, Sony has not yet given up PlayStation 4. Sony has launched the beta for version 7.0 for PlayStation 4.

Sony announced in an email to PlayStation 4 owners that a new application will be implemented for software update operations. According to the statements, the next software update process will not need to restart the console. Users will be able to perform software updates automatically and will continue to play after the installation is complete.

Sony sent a code to its users in the email. This code invites PlayStation users to the beta process. Moreover, users are asked to share the codes sent to them with 20 different people and support the beta process.

Sony did not provide a detailed description of this update and beta, but some features are known. The most remarkable of these features is the improvements in voice chat. With the latest update, Sony will provide users with a much better voice chat experience. In addition, Sony will offer a new feature that will increase the number of group chats to 16 people. This way, users can create a chat environment with the communities they create. For those involved in the beta process, these groups will appear as stars.

“Be one of the first players to try out the new PS4™ Party update, as part of the PlayStation® Beta experience. Play, chat and connect with even more friends online, as we’re boosting Party sessions from eight to 16 players – this brand-new feature is due to release in System Software Update 7.00.

Performance for system updates is also being improved, meaning your PS4™ won’t always need to restart after every update. Going forwards, select system software updates will automatically be installed after download if the [System Software Update Files] setting is switched on, found under:

[Settings] > [System] > [Auto Downloads]

If you participate in this Beta trial, you won’t be able to join the same Party or use Share Play with others who aren’t also participating in the trial. Once you’ve opted in to the trial, Parties that you’re able to join will have an asterisk (*) in front of the Party name.”
