As a leader in online music broadcasting with 200 million users, Spotify has announced Spotify Lite, which uses lighter and less data.
The application has a size of 10 MB and can be downloaded to any device with Android 4.3 or higher. Spotify Lite can now be downloaded in 36 countries. As Kalle Persson, one of Spotify’s product managers, points out that the “lite” version of the application was created thanks to users. Based on feedback from millions of people using Spotify, they have developed this version that will work better on low-bandwidth areas and devices with low storage.
According to Spotify, 90% of the features in the main application are also available in the Lite application. The features that have been removed include elements that do not affect the music experience, such as videos and cover artists. The application also comes with a kind of reminder feature for those who are afraid to fill the internet quota.
