Drivers License her debut hit was the biggest song for Spotify users. On the other hand Apple users prefer the BTS boyband pop, making their single Dynamite the most played song of 2021.

The second place in the most played album category goes to Dua Lipa‘s disco-pop odyssey Future Nostalgia.

Ed Sheeran with his brand new hit song Bad Habits took the third place on Spotify and 53rd place in Apple’s chart. However, Ed Sheeran did do way better in the UK. UK Apple streamers put Bad Habits in third place.

An interesting fact is that Adele did not make any dent in this years charts. That is mostly because these charts were compiled way too early. But there is one more month of 2021 left to go. December just might be the month Adele to move up into the top 10 positions.

Her album 30 has already become the year’s biggest seller in the US in just one week of sales.

Bad BunnyAccording to Spotify Bad Bunny is the most popular artist. Racking an impressive 9.1 billion streams.

I don’t into it to be the number one most-streamed artist, I just make music. I just enjoy my ‘work’. – Bad Bunny

Right after Bad Bunny is Taylor Swift, making her number two on the list with the release of her classic albums: Fearless and Red.

BTS, Drake (with the release of Certified Lover Boy back in September) and Justin Bieber (with his Justice collaboration album) follow on 3rd, 4th and 5th place respectively.

These numbers are important because Apple Music and Spotify make up 48% of the streaming market. It is a good representation of what the people are listening. The top five songs on Spotify were streamed more than 1 billion times this year.
